        女神节
            2019-03-12  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

        nǚshénjié Meaning:

“女神” means “goddess,” and “节” means “festival.” This term, widely used by Chinese netizens and in Chinese media, refers to “Women’s Day,” which falls on March 8 each year. Previously, people would use the standard translation of “妇女节,” but nowadays, people prefer the more flattering term.

        Example:

        A: 上周五你们公司放假了吗?

Shàngzhōuwǔ nǐmen gōngsī fàngjià le ma?

Did you take some time off last Friday?

        B: 没有啊。

        Méiyǒu a。

        No.

        A: 因为女神节,我们所有女员工都放假半天。

Yīnwèi nǚshénjié,wǒmen suǒyǒu nǚ yuángōng dōu fàngjià bàntiān。

All girls in our company took half a day off because it was Women’s Day.
